June 24 (Reuters) - Evenflo Co., the company responsible for Delta and five children furniture recalled 2.2 million cribs after regulators documented dozens of children who are trapped or flatten, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

Seven of the eight-bed model recalls involving drop-side, the agency said today in a statement.CPSC Chairman Inez Tenenbaum said nurseries are a danger "heartless" after the agency documented 32 deaths since 2000 and has recalled millions of beds.

"This new decision-back announcement is part of a larger effort by the CPSC to clean the market," Tenenbaum said in an e-mail allegation. "Many of these recalled cribs have drop sides dangerous."
